What are insulated glasses?

Insulated glass is a technical term for thermal insulation glass consisting of two or more panes of glass and a hermetically sealed space between the panes, the so-called chambers. However, they are separated by a spacer frame running along the entire perimeter. The glazing unit is characterized by exceptional tightness. Special adhesive and sealing materials are introduced in the places where the pane is joined with the distance frame. They ensure the stability of the entire structure and effective insulation from external factors.

Sound-absorbing glass

Sound-absorbing glasses

The condition for ensuring proper comfort and sometimes even living in a given place is to ensure a low noise level. Noise protection must be used wherever its source cannot be eliminated. In such cases, we are dealing with sound-absorbing double glazing. The offered sound-absorbing sets are based on the asymmetry of the glass panes, their flexible connections and the use of damping gases in the space between the panes. When choosing the right sound insulation, the source of the noise must be determined each time.

Sun glasses

Glass used in insulating glass is usually referred to as solar control glass. They are mainly used to reduce the amount of penetrating solar energy, thus protecting rooms from overheating. An additional advantage over traditional solutions is the reduction of costs incurred for air conditioning of rooms. Solar control glasses are divided into two groups: absorptive and reflective. Due to the appearance, method of production and the principle of operation, we distinguish:

Glass tinted in the mass ( absorptive)

The basic solution is the use of absorptive glasses. Such glass is colored in the mass during the smelting process in the glassworks. Blue, brown, graphite or green colors cause strong absorption of the appropriate part of the rays. Due to the phenomenon of absorption, tinted glass heats up strongly, absorbing about 50% of the solar radiation energy, and then dissipates the energy, directing it outside again. Absorptive glasses are characterized by a low degree of light reflection. Depending on the needs, the appropriate color and thickness of the glass are selected for the entire glazing, because the effect of absorbing glass increases with the increase of glass thickness.

Reflective glass

A more advanced solution is the use of glass with a reflective coating ( Reflex ). The reflective coating is applied to the glass during its production. Its task is to reflect both visible light and solar heat. The use of coatings of different colors, in addition to the proper shaping of the energy balance, is often used to improve the aesthetic value of the building. Both types of sun protection glass can be combined with other types of glass almost freely. Combination with low-emission glass or glass with anti-burglary properties in one glazing unit allows you to meet the visual expectations of users. This solution allows you to create multifunctional sets that effectively protect against unwanted energy exchange at any time of the year.

Laminated glass

Laminated glass

Laminated glass consists of two layers of glass, between which there is a PVB foil (a material highly resistant to tearing). When the glass is broken, the glass remains stuck to the film. This minimizes the risk of injury. The PVB foil provides protection, increases sound insulation, while reducing the penetration of UV rays.
